Notice of Application Hearing - City of Johnsonville

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 12:00 PM, the City of Johnsonville and Florence County will hold a joint public hearing at the City Administration Building, 117 E Broadway Street, concerning a Community Enrichment application that will be submitted to the SC Department of Commerce on September 30, 2022, for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

The proposed project will purchase a fire truck for Johnsonville Fire Station 1, which is owned and operated by Florence County. The City of Johnsonville is requesting a $500,000 CDBG grant that will be used in conjunction with local funds provided by Florence County of $175,000 to purchase the fire truck. All residents in the service area, of whom at least 51% are classified as LMI, will benefit from the project.

This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the City and County’s Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of Johnsonville and Florence County in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds. The Citizen Participation Plan is available for review at City Hall between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM and the Florence County Complex between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
